Alexander Wang President Steps Down from Role

Alexander Wang’s president, Rodrigo Bazan, has stepped down. According to WWD, Bazan (above, seated), the brand’s first-ever present, joined Wang's eponymous label back December 2010 and oversaw the rollout of 27 stores worldwide. A spokesman for Alexander Wang told WWD: "The company was thankful for Bazan's accomplishments and plans to pursue the next steps for its continued business development. An announcement of a successor is expected in the coming months."

Prior to his appointment at Alexander Wang, Bazan served as vice president and general manager for the Europe, Middle Eastern and Indian markets for Marc Jacobs International.

The move comes on the heels of Wang's ousting from Paris-based design house Balenciaga in July 2015, following a three-year tenure. Despite reports that Wang was, in fact, fired, he maintained (of course) that the departure was so that he could focus on his eponymous label full time. Wang has since launched a jewelry collection for his namesake brand and likely has cosmetics in the works, as well.
